Throw away your Playstation and delete Words With Friends.
If your goal is to achieve your highest level of greatness, there is only one route. You must work your ass off (at one thing).
I talk to a lot of people who tell me about how hard they work yet are meeting with minimal success in life or business. It never makes sense to me until I find out they have loads of down time. They have time to watch marathon episodes of Real Housewives, time to have fresh playstation or words with friends skills, time to have brunch AND hit up the club on Sundays. No wonder they are not winning like they know they should be.
The bottom line is that we all have the same 24-hours in a day. [inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””]What separates people crushing the game from those getting crushed in the game is the amount of time focused on task.[/inlinetweet]
I had the opportunity to work and be mentored by two billionaires in my career. These were two completely different people dominating their fields. One female, the other male. One single, the other married. One in the entertainment industry, the other in the education sector. While entirely unique to each other, they shared many traits, the most significant being concentrated work ethic. They focused all their energy in one idea.
Sure, they still enjoyed time with family and friends. Sure, they had hobbies. But their passion was treated like a parent cares for a child. There was no 24-hour period that went by without them giving it significant love and attention. They never took full weekends off, they don’t own Playstations, they never “kinda” worked hard, they never half-assed when it came to their passion.
Lesson: If your goal is to win big, stop half-assing and start whole-assing!
