Oprah and Paul Carrick Brunson Launch Biggest Dating Challenge in TV History

Oprah Winfrey’s up to her usual programming genius once again. The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has tapped ESSENCE.com’s very own Modern Day Matchmaker Paul Carrick Brunson, also known as the “real life Hitch,” to co-host the biggest dating challenge in TV history, as part of a new show called “Lovetown, USA.” The network announced today that “Lovetown, USA” is one of three new original series being added to OWN’s 2012 lineup. “Love whisperer” Kailen Rosenberg, who’s successfully formed over 200 marriages, will join Brunson to host.

After a nationwide search producers chose Kingsland, Georgia, to be transformed into “Lovetown, USA.”  Brunson and Rosenberg will take over the town for 30 days to help eight singles find true love, close to home. The goal of the show is to examine the effects love can have on the DNA of a community, and producers are promising that everyone from the mayor to the local townspeople will be involved. The show is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for OWN and will begin filming in the coming months.

Join us in congratulating our “Modern Day Matchmaker” on landing such an amazing hosting opportunity. We look forward to watching you make love happen, Paul.

This sounds awesome! What’s the status on the show? I don’t have OWN network but I would love to see it.
