#MentorMonday 25 [Recap]: The Hope Panel

“The minute you are willing to surrender your biggest dreams…the success follows.” ~ Mandy Hale

“When you think you’ve lost hope it’s just the Universe’s way of telling you there is something else out there for you.” ~ Russ Terry

“When you step out on faith you don’t fall.” ~ Paul C. Brunson

“I don’t even watch the news [on TV] because it’s too depressing…I have to make a decision to remain positive and hopeful at all times.” ~ Angela Russell

#mentormonday; hope

We’re talking HOPE, with the “Oprah emphasis.” This episode of #MentorMonday took a fascinating and dare I say, ‘hopeful’ look at how to keep hope and how to keep from losing hope. Some of us, like Paul, like our hope in a liquid form!

Seriously, though, hope, and the elements of hope, including faith and confidence, were the focus of this episode. Paul considers himself “The Hope Guy,” so this episode is near and dear to his heart (but honestly, every episode is!)…and to the hearts of the #MentorMonday Community.

#MentorMonday And #ThxBirthControl Get Sexy “After Dark”: We Dare You To Watch

#MentorMonday got a little daring in the first “after dark” episode dedicated to all things sex!

In partnership with #ThxBirthControl and Bedsider.org, an online resource for birth control for men and women, #MentorMonday gave the audience what they needed and wanted in a conversation centered around such a controversial topic.

#MentorMonday - Derrick Jaxn & Charreah (2)

Every single relationship seminar that Paul conducts always includes a discussion about birth control. “Birth control is the most substantial thing that has impacted dating and impacted marriage that has ever been created.”  Paul decided HR laws be damned and had an interesting convo with the producer of #MentorMonday, Ella (@EllaLaverne) about her current sex situation, much to Ella’s chagrin…but I feel so much closer to Ella now.  Silly season has begun.

#MentorMonday 23 – Awesomely Authentic with Luvvie Ajayi

Introducing, the new co-host of Our World with Black Enterprise, Paul Carrick Brunson, woo hoo!! The entire #MentorMonday sends congratulations to our Paul C. Brunson. We’re all excited, as is Paul!

Paul gave a shout out to attendees of the one-day #MentorMondayMastermind Intensive that he and Ella Rucker facilitated in Washington, DC the weekend prior. Billionaire (yes, with a ‘B’) entrepreneur, and one of Paul’s two billionaire mentors, Enver Yűcel, stopped by and shared with attendees about his entrepreneurial journey, grilled attendees about our business concepts and answered every question he was asked. My highlight, aside from getting to ask him a question about marketing when he was a young start-up, was after he left the room, he came back in almost immediately to take a pic and tweet about his experience with us. Talk about the power of social media!

ICYMI: Fear not if you were unable to attend the November 1 #MentorMondayMastermind Intensive, Paul and Ella are hosting another One-day Mastermind Intensive on December 13, and this one will be live in Washington, DC AND livestreaming for those unable to travel to DC. Winning!

Now let’s talk about building a business around your authentic self with Digital Strategist and Humor Writer, Luvvie Ajayi!

Paul says, “Luvvie’s narrative of truth and authenticity is in her body of work.”

#MentorMonday Wows The Crowd(funding) With Money-Making Tips For Biz

Financial resources matter a great deal to all businesses which is why for many small business owners, crowdfunding campaigns have become so popular. Crowdfunding, the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, typically via the internet, has been used for everything from potato salad recipes (nope, that’s not a typo) to film production and business launches.

So when we at #MentorMonday thought about practical advice for you, our beloved entrepreneurs,  and how you need to fund your BIG dreams, crowdfunding seemed like a perfect fit.  And if the chat room love our two crowdfunding experts received was any indication, the insight for creating a successful crowdfunding campaigns was on point.

#MentorMonday [Recap]: 3 Entrepreneurs + 1 Conversation = Infinite Information

entrepreneur panel

So Paul may or may not have been ‘smacked’ (slang word meaning you’re somewhere on the spectrum from “tipsy to drunk”). Pour it up it’s #MentorMonday and we’re toasting!

Lots of great news, such as the recent marriage of Marshawn Evans, who married Jack A. Daniels. Marshawn broke the news of the engagement on #MentorMonday Session 11.  Watch the episode to find out the part Paul played in getting these two together.  Matchmaking comes in many forms, my Friends.

We also said, “Cheers” to BlackGirlsRun founders Ashley Hicks and Toni Carey from #MentorMonday Session 13.  They received  a live, on-stage shout out by the Queen Oprah herself during her recent tour stop in Atlanta, where they received a $25,000 grant for their awesome non-profit work.

Anytime you can watch #MentorMonday you will be greatly enriched and get all the tools that you need to be successful wherever you are along your entrepreneurial and life’s journey. HOWEVER, there are some benefits to joining #MentorMonday LIVE! And tonight we had mo’ guests so we had mo’ prizes!

Amazing prizes from each of the panelists were awarded to the three #MentorMonday community members whose questions were selected by the members in the chatroom as the best questions. Those questions were then answered by the panel members in real time! Just another perk of being a member of the #MentorMonday community.

#MentorMonday [Recap]: Dr. Dennis Kimbro On Our CHOICE to Create Wealth!

It was the 20th Episode of #MentorMonday!!! Shout out to Blue Moon…was that a beer burp, Paul?

On a serious note, Paul took a moment to discuss the shooting of Michael Brown, and to reflect on the dialogue that ensued surrounding racism, policing and strategies to address equality – especially wealth equality. And there’s no better person to discuss wealth creation than Dr. Dennis Kimbro.

Paul even shared a bit about his own upbringing, his father’s economic trajectory and the impact his father’s wealth-building efforts had on Paul’s life.

Honestly, this episode really holds up a mirror to us and in some instances will make you say “Ouch!” But if you’re serious about pursuing your dreams, creating wealth, expanding your world, gritting your teeth and taking the medicine that Dr. Kimbro doles out, this episode of #MentorMonday can change your life! That’s not hyperbole. Check it out for yourself!#MentorMonday

Cedella Marley Was Born to #StrikeHard

If you were following along on Twitter leading up to this very special edition of #MentorMonday you know there was high tension and loads of speculation between which of Blue Moon and Red Stripe, Paul’s fave beers, he would pop for this auspicious occasion…and the winner is….!

You’ll just have to watch this #MentorMonday session to find out!

The #MentorMonday community was so excited to welcome a woman who Paul introduced in part as “an artist, entrepreneur, leader within the community, philanthropist; multi-talented and multi-dimensional.” Further stating that when he thinks about royalty and royalty related to his experience he considers Ms. Cedella Marley “The Princess.”

#MentorMonday [Recap]: What Success in Media Really Means w/ OWN TV’s VP of Programming & Development, Endyia K. Sterns!

#MentorMonday started as it always does.  Paul started the party early with some Blue Moon.  Yep!  Our fearless leader is loving the Blue Moon vibe and was three moons in as the show started.  Why so many?  The excitement of having…

Ms. Endyia K. Sterns!  Yes!  The Vice President of Programming and Development at the Oprah Winfrey Network and Paul’s former boss spent some time mentoring us.

The conversation centered around three media concepts:

  1. The life cycle of a show and the various actions taken from the concept to what we see on television.

  2. Getting our products, services, and ourselves on the air.

  3. The trends in media today and how entrepreneurs can fill the gaps the established media may be experiencing.

Not only did Endyia give us solid advice and strategies on how to leverage media, she also explained a thing or two about what success really means.

#MentorMonday

Oh, and you know we couldn’t let her leave without dishing about how it is to work with THE woman herself!  She has the BEST Oprah story we’ve ever heard…
